Good place for a picnic, rain or shine.

One of the places we like to head for lunch, dinner, or just a rest is our nearby Maji Square. On the weekends there are crowds of families gathered here, performers, and high schoolers practicing their dance routines in what used to be the nearby football stadium. Currently it’s the Taipei Expo Park, and the area is a great place for social gatherings in any kind of weather. With coverings that shield from rain or intense sunshine, the weekends see the square filled with produce markets as farmers from all around come to sell their products. The square also has a row of food vendors with international choices available as well. The food is relatively cheap and tasty (a tiny bit more expensive than night markets, but still very affordable), and there are always plenty of spots to visit. During the week, the crowds die down, and we get the square all to ourselves. We decided to head there on a sunny Spring afternoon and give our 6 minutes of focus to this sketch above.
