6 minute sketch: View of Mt. Guanyin from Tamsui
At the end of a very active weekend, we sat on the grass of a busy Tamsui 淡水 district and stared across the water at Bali 八里 and Guanyin Mountain 觀音山。Never having gone to Mt. Guanyin, I’ve only ever enjoyed the view and associated it with the end of the red line metro stop that stretches from Tamsui to Elephant Mountain 象山。Tamsui is an excellent place to enjoy the setting sun, some seafood street food, some Tamsui iron eggs 鐵蛋, and surrounding historical forts and sites related to Taipei’s colonial past. I’m always reminded that I’m living on an island whenever I visit Tamsui and view Mt. Guanyin from the grassy park.
