I agree with you that you cannot build employee engagement and trust with software alone, but do you not think that there's a balance we can strike? Part of the drive towards hybrid work is in providing employees the flexibility to work with more autonomy from any location. This autonomy allows employees the chance to take care of their personal lives and work from the comfort of their own homes or spaces they find are more productive. In order to do so, we do need to utilize certain tech tools...at the same time I totally agree that these tools do not=trust and engagement, but if used correctly, they can help provide a meaningful connection.
