I feel like this kind of going the extra mile spirit is overvalued in companies. At my former company, one of our core values was actually "go the extra 裡“ (located in Beijing), which I agree is a good thing to give extra effort. But if we're going to value doing EXTRA work, at the same time we need to make sure we're valuing people taking time and space for themselves. We cannot forget to let people value their lives outside of work.
